The project

Jazz manouche – Originals, covers

One of the best Gypsy violinists of his generation, virtuoso Timbo Mehrstein keeps the tradition alive while opening it up to new horizons. In addition to the original strings quartet composed of Geisela Reinhardt on lead guitar, Francko Mehrstein on rhythm guitar, and Alex Gilson on double bass, pianist Jean-Sébastien Grunfelder and a horn section power up the new Gypsy Jazz Ensemble. The album release, mainly made of originals, is planned for September 2017.

In other news, Timbo Mehrstein is currently in theaters in the latest Etienne Comar’s movie “Django” with actor Reda Kateb in the main role and Cécile de France. The movie has opened Berlin film competition, and its public release is planned for April 26 2017.
