Kader Fahem’s album “The Road to Sahara” is a trip around the Mediterranean basin between world music, flamenco, classical … Adnan Joubran is a guest; Ali Bensadoun with the flutes, Amar Chaoui with the percussions, Bernard Menu with the bass and Kader Fahem with the mandolin and the guitar. It is a return to the origins, the origins for the artist while maintaining its play and its modernity. All the tracks on the album are compositions by the artist.
It was with the idea of creating a link that Timbo Mehrstein chose the title of the album. “Ketene Sea” means “We, together” in Romance. Linking tradition, standards and creation, the disappeared (on three tributes) and the next generation (Florineske), building a bridge between jazz on both sides of the Atlantic and erasing the borders between manouches and gadjé … To accomplish this project, Timbo Mehrstein was surrounded by Geisela Reinhardt on the solo guitar, her cousin Francko Mehrstein on the rhythm guitar, Jean-Sébastien Grunfelder on the piano and Alex Gilson on the double bass. A section of blowers carries a hot American wind on half the pieces. And to close this chapter, Timbo is joined by Dorado Schmitt on violin, Hono Winterstein on rhythm guitar and Rovelo Merstein on vocals.
